with martinez, a tree fell on a power line, there on 32nd and brown street residents say that it took p.g.g. crews several hours to respond. we'll check with janet live here in just minutes. but in the meantime, to contra costa county. p.g. is telling us that there are about 15,000 customers that lost power this evening in the bay area, but again it was rain throughout the first half of the day. and boy, that's exactly what our chief meteorologist bill martin called for. bill, you told us that it would clear up by noon, and it did. >> [inaudible] that gave us a break -- the heaviest an inch of rain -- the upshot to that, the rainfall came under the estimates. so the rain not as heavy as expected. so that's good for the first of these heavy weather systems. if you take a look at the rainfall systems, heavy rain, but livermore, quarter of an inch. just an inch of rain in lowland. we're getting a break, there's the system as it moves out of the area. and you see that blue sky, we're going to get about scoffers of dry in the bay area. we've got all the live radars going, we've got reno, and

through martinez. back over toward parts of the east bay. san francisco over to oakland a little heavier toward san rafael. looks like right there on the san rafael side of the richmond san rafael bridge. off the coast you can see right off the marin coast in san francisco there is a little bit stronger cells inching closer. it's not cold it's really mild. if you don't have rain cloudy conditions and foggy. there is a little low right there. that will give us enhancement here in the morning. look for cloudy skies and rain. just kind of a foggy rainy day. 60s on the temps. even the lows or upper 50s to near 60 for some. we won't see much of a change on the temperatures from lows to highs. the rain will end tonight. fog very, very thick. i think north bay, east bay out to the valley it will be a big issue here. it does look quieter. breezy. that should wipe out the fog. >>> right now the european markets are all trading higher this morning. overnight the asian markets closed with gains as well. after china's leaders -- shanghai composite jumped almost 3%. all the other markets finished the

, there's new mexico governor susanna martinez, louisiana governor bobby jindal, south carolina governor nicki hailey and brian sandoval. two of the contenders intersect with the contingent of women would-be nominees. along with minnesota congressman michele bachmann. she isn't the only do over on the list. she's joined by fellow pennsylvania senator rick santorum and texas governor rick perry. texas congressman ron paul for once isn't on the list. but his son, senator rand paul, is creating a category with jeb bush that we're going to call relatively speaking. then there are the guys weighing a presidential run who let's say say national name recognition isn't a strong point. john thune and indiana governor-elect mike pence may not win national popularity contests at least this year, but both have been hailed for their leadership potential. as shining stars in the gop. they may have to compete for the party faithful, but those accustomed to a certain level of national fame, if not infamy. those like new jersey governor chris christie. perhaps, the only contender to have actually hugged
